highly acclaimed housing counseling.

CCCS is certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a comprehensive housing counseling
agency. Each counselor at CCCS is an expert in resolving housing concerns. Their staff includes HUD trained and
certified housing counselors. Incidentally, they are one of the largest HUD-approved counseling agencies. CCCS
provides counseling primarily in these areas: Pre-Purchase Counseling Purchasing a home, especially
for first time buyers can be a daunting task. You can learn the basics of the home buying process in a private
one-hour session with a CCCS-certified housing counselor. As you move towards home ownership, CCCS can show
you how to develop a monthly budget to help you plan for household expenses, improvements and those
“unexpected" bills that may arise.
Mortgage Default and Delinquency Counseling Even with foreclosures in Georgia at an all time high, the thought of losing your home can be
horrifying. If you are behind on your mortgage payments, the counselors at CCCS
can help you establish a budget, set priorities, and determine the appropriate strategies to help you keep your
property.
Post-Purchase Counseling In this
informational session, equity loans, 2nd mortgages, home improvement loans, and refinancing are all carefully
examined to help the borrower understand the ins and outs of these financial instruments. The CCCS provides
counseling services in areas other than the ones we mentioned. You can visit their website at www.cccsatl.org to obtain more information.
It is important that you understand; receiving input from a trained third
party with no vested interested, (i.e., no sales quotas or commissions) is one of the best ways of obtaining
reliable information, and the folks at CCCS meet that criteria. If you are behind on your mortgage payments and are
facing foreclosure, first, you need to go to our, How to Stop Foreclosure page
and read it in its entirety.
Afterward, if you believe further advice or counseling is needed, you can
contact the REO Dr and speak with one of
our specialists or contact the CCCS and speak with one of their counselors.
